burts

If you associate crisps with real food, hand fried using the finest natural ingredients, then you already know about Burts! Their specially selected potatoes are delivered fresh from the farm, then sorted, peeled and sliced into a cauldron of pure sunflower oil. Following about six minutes of frantic stirring and frying, the chips are raked from the oil and carefully inspected, before being seasoned and packed while still warm… so just dip in and have fun!

At Cotswold Fayre, we stock a large range of hand-cooked crisps (or chips) in both large family bags and smaller bags. Warning - these products are particularly moreish - you will be back for more! Why not try the Burts hot chilli and lemon crisps, they are a taste sensation!

Bloody Mary: Warming spiced tomato with an edge. Great before Sunday lunch. Won’t get you drunk, but certainly hits the spot!

Firecracker Lobster: Real Lobster and Chillis from South Devon combine to make this a fishy favourite.

Hot Chilli and Lemon: The Steve McQueen of the chip world – gorgeous with bags of character and a smouldering edge that’ll make you go weak at the knees!

Lightly Sea Salted: The classic. Burts are as picky with their salt as they are with their potatoes. Little wonder that Nigel Slater in The Observer called them ‘nothing less than the perfect crisp’.

Mature Cheddar Chips: Real cheddar is used to devastating effect in this Burts favourite. One for cheese lovers everywhere!

Mixed Roots: With carrot, parsnip and beetroot. A scrumptious pot-pourri of root vegetables.

Parsnip with Black Pepper: Delicious hand fried parsnip chips with a light sweetness that complements the black pepper perfectly.

Salt and Black Pepper: The Fred and Ginger of seasoning, with just enough bite to allow the real potato taste to shine through.

Sea Salt and Sherry Vinegar: The new kid on the block, and fast making a name for itself. Sherry vinegar has a rich flavour that works fantastically well with the sea salt.

Smokey Streaked Bacon: Made with delicious smoked bacon for our friends at Denhay Farms in Dorset.
